For the Spring-Summer of 2025 I had a federally funded “early research and creation” grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to travel to Norway. The funding allowed me time and space to explore how to revitalise folklore narratives from my heritage with new experimental processes. The two residencies I attended called Natthagen and Austmarka were steeped in local folklore and known for their magic, mystery, and emphasis on their nature focused settings. I also attended a private band weaving course in Fana and went on a private tour at the National Museum in Oslo.
